Cybercrime: My Reflection

Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 or the Republic Act # 10175

Cyber crime word on globe formed by binary code, 3d render
This law is about the online interactions and social network sites the people are using almost every day of our lives. This defines and punishes certain acts that are classified as offenses against the confidentiality, integrity
and availability of computer data and systems, computer related offenses and content related offenses.

Cybercrime law safeguards internet of our privacy. Wiretapping is an offense that the law provides and this can be traced and punished. This also safeguard us from alteration or deletion of data without right resulting in inauthentic data.

Cybersex and child pornography are offenses committed through computer system. There are persons who engage in such crime because of financial difficulties or victims of human trafficking.

To my own perception this law protects us from persons who wants to destroy our reputation, privacy and innocent persons used in child pornography. In doing so, criminals will have a second thought because the law will run after them.

Reflection:
We are now in the 21st century era where almost most of us already have their facebook account, e-mail account, twitter and other social networks. There are even people who cannot live without internet and cellphone. Life became so easy getting information through internet but so complex in physical interaction and personality development.

I am pro-cybercrime law. We have the freedom to tell what we want to say as said to the 'Freedom of Speech'. But since not all people are disciplined, then this law is really needed. There are people who cannot control themselves when they are mad, they just say or post what they want to post, say bad words as many as they want to and insult other people without thinking that they could actually hurt.

May this law be a guide to everyone. We do not hold our future. We might not know that one day you already have a subpoena or have destroyed already anyone's life.
